Keanu is a dedicated and outcome-focused planner with substantial hands-on experience in the planning and development industry, having worked in South East and Far North Queensland in both the private and public sectors. He is backed by a strong skillset and understanding of Local Government processes and the essential functions that underpin thriving communities and works closely with a range of Far North and Central Queensland Councils.

Keanu’s most recent role was as the Development & Planning Coordinator at Cairns Regional Council, a supervisory role to the Development Assessment, Major Projects, Appeals and Infrastructure Planning functions of the organisation. In this role, he acted as the delegate for highly sensitive and complex development matters for the region while managing a large team from various technical backgrounds. Keanu had oversight of all development projects in the Cairns Region, ensuring the effective delivery of everything from minor to major and catalytic development for the community. This work was not limited to Development Assessment matters, playing a role in the Towards 2050 Growth Strategy, Planning Scheme amendments, LGIP amendments, Master Planning exercises and the rollout of a range of strategic initiatives.
